The following happened in Texas eons ago: – The Manhattan String Quartet had played a Haydn Serenade at an evening concert and were hurrying for the midnight train when their way was barred by cowboys flourishing revolvers. “You boys get together and play for us that there piece you played tonight; we sure liked that piece,” commanded one of the invaders. “But .. b-but… our t-train…” stammered the players....
